Role Overview:
The Joint Venture Representative will integrate the requirements of disciplines such as engineering, field operations, land, marketing, legal and accounting to ensure the company’s best interests are served, as they develop, negotiate, and monitor agreements between Pine Cliff and partner companies, for the use and shared ownership of midstream assets. The position may be eligible for either a full-time contract position or as a full-time employee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the company’s joint venture assets and associated contracts are accurately reflected for decision making. Ensure maximum cash flow from joint venture arrangements and provide assistance in making technical recommendations in response to Joint Venture proposals.
- Demonstrate skill in basic economics, accounting knowledge, negotiating, business policies, and corporate procedures.
- May represent the company on operating committees and may act as company spokesperson with regard to negotiating joint venture agreements.
- Provide advice and agreement interpretation to internal stakeholders concerning joint venture agreements (service, facility, unit, settlements)
- Anticipate and respond to new business needs by leading the development and/or change of analytical systems, tasks, and procedures.
- Draft and review joint venture agreements with a full understanding of all forms of agreements and exhibits within the joint venture field.
- Take a leadership role in identifying issues; responsible for ensuring correctness and accuracy of joint venture agreements and related documents.
- Coordinate complex projects that may require significant research and maybe have material financial and contractual implications for the company.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions.
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in Canadian upstream Joint Interest/Joint Venture roles, or experience in a similar capacity.
- Post-secondary education in a related field; or a minimum of 10 years of experience in the joint venture field. Completion of the Joint Venture Analyst/Admin certifications through the PJVA.
- A general aptitude for data concepts and experience with Qbyte Exchange considered strong assets.
- Experience with Pine Cliff’s tech-stack considered an asset (i.e. PowerBI reports, StackDX, PetroNinja, Strattix, Aucerna Execute AFE, SharePoint).
